Dicky’s Den

Dicky’s Den is a large and comfortable self-catering holiday home sleeping 12. It is situated on North Bay by the Vaaldam, less than an hour’s drive from Johannesburg. It is an ideal base from which to experience many of the vacation activities for which the Vaaldam and its environs are well known.

For a breakaway which includes 4 bedrooms(1 en suite with bath and shower, 2 other rooms with double beds, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds) a dormitory with 4 beds, 2 guest toilets with showers, large lounge with fireplace, swimming pool and much more……

R1800 per night for more than 8 people

No more than 12 people are allowed. The above mentioned fee’s include the fee’s for the cleaner.

Directions to Dicky’s Den

Directions From Johannesburg to Dicky’s Den at the Vaal Dam:

• Drive on the N3/N12 Durban/ Kimberly highway (you will see the PPC Cement Factory on the right).
• Follow the Right fork on the N12 to Bloemfontein/Vereeniging/ Kimberly .
• Turn LEFT on R59 Vereniging / Meyerton after the Golf Course on the left.
• Continue for 36 Km, turn LEFT at the Johan Le Roux off-ramp and at stop street turn LEFT to Meyerton.
• Go through 3 stop streets and at T Junction (4th stop street) turn RIGHT.
• Tavel for 1.5 kms to STOP street (on the right there is an Engen garage and shops).
• Turn LEFT to Vaaldam/Villiers - Drive 6.1 kms to STOP street. Turn RIGHT to Uitvlug.
• Continue for 2 km’s to next STOP street (R42 junction).
• Cross over the road (sign also indicated to Uitvlug) and continue for 4.6km’s to T-junction R54 (N3). Turn LEFT at Stop street to Villiers on R54 (N3).
• Continue for 15.8 kms, crossing over the Suikerbos river until you get to the junction, R549 to Heidelberg on left, turn RIGHT on R549 to Deneysville /Vaal Dam. You will see the Vaal Dam on the left.
• Continue for 3.7 km’s past Laboya Bay Marina and a caravan park on your left.
• As you start going up the following hill look out for gateposts with wagon wheels on your LEFT (the gateposts are set back from the road). There will also be a Dickinson Group sign next to the road.
• Turn LEFT, off the tar road on to the dirt road and house is the one with the wagon wheels and a sign ‘Dicky’s Den’
