Polished wooden floors, brass and iron four-poster beds from a bygone era, antique furniture and working fireplaces lend warmth and character to the spacious high-ceilinged rooms. It took a lot of hard work to recapture Fairview’s long lost splendour and elegance and we invite you to share in our beautiful home and gardens when you next choose accommodation on the Garden Route and in George. A Victorian Cape-Colonial style home and a National Monument.
Fairview offers superior holiday and business accommodation, at reasonable rates. Three spacious bedrooms, all with en suite or private shower bathrooms; two with fireplaces. Including:

The Orange Room - Suitable for a couple or a single with another single bed for a child if required. This charming room receives afternoon sun. There is also a small microwave - by special request from the lady reps who just want to pop a little ready-meal into the microwave… As the house is listed with the S.A. National Monument’s Council, there is a limit to what is allowed regarding the en-suite bathrooms therefore this bathroom has a shower and no bath. There is a cozy sitting area in front of the working fireplace.
The Yellow Room - Suitable for a couple or a single. This lovely room gets full morning sun. It has an antique four poster wrought iron and brass double bed, with French doors overlooking the lavender garden. There is a small microwave. This bathroom has a shower over an old-fashioned cast iron bath. There is also a cozy sitting area in front of the working fireplace.
The Family Room - Suitable for a single, a couple or a family of up to 4 - it has a four poster wrought iron antique double bed, 2 single beds and a cot .The room has been divided into two, giving privacy to the further room. En-suite shower (no bath).
The Yellow Room - With an extra length double bed the room is suitable for a couple or a single. This room gets full morning sun and the bathroom has an old-fashioned slipper bath (no shower).
Directions to Fairview Historic Homestead
If entering George from Cpt or Oudshoorn- Take circle exit toward Knysna at top of York Street. Over railway bridge and turn left into Second Street and go through small circle (Meyer Street) and turn left at stop sign to find 36 Stander street on your right.
From Knysna - Turn right into Second Street after you pass the St.George’s Square Shopping Center, go through small circle (Meyer Street) and turn left at stop sign to find 36 Stander street on your right.
