HighCliffe House

Highcliffe House is situated in the picturesque coastal village of Gordon’s Bay. It is just 45 minutes from central Cape Town and less than 30 minutes from Cape Town International Airport; ideally located therefore for all the attractions of the Western Cape, including several championship golf courses and the wonderful Cape Winelands.

With safe white sandy beaches, Gordon’s Bay is a haven for whale and dolphin watching, as well as many water sports - particularly yachting and fishing, as Gordon’s Bay boasts two harbours: the old fishing harbour and Harbour Island, a yachtsman’s paradise.

Highcliffe House, which has 4-Star Rating, is renowned for the quality of their three luxurious and spacious self-catering apartments: the stylish one bedroom Merlot & Pinotage Suites, and the fabulous two bedroom Riesling Suite, which all have spectacular sea and mountain views. These tasteful, serviced apartments provide peace & tranquillity in a beautiful, secur eenvironment, while giving guests the flexibility and space to enjoy their holiday in their own time frame.

Each apartment is uniquely furnished to a high standard, and fully equipped to meet the needs of our most discerning guests. All suites have spacious, modern kitchens, en-suite bedrooms, air conditioning & ceiling fans, Satellite TV, DVD/CD players and mini hi-fi systems, free internet access and barbecue facilities, as well as many other luxuries to ensure a comfortable stay. Each Suite has a private entrance with direct access from safe parking, so that you can come & go as you please.

After enjoying the sights and attractions of the area, cool off in our salt water pool, or just relax on a lounger on the patio. Enjoy the magnificent sunsets across the Bay, dine ‘alfresco’ under the starts with a delicious glass of local wine, then have a ‘nightcap’ in the bar before retiring at the end of another perfect day.

The Merlot Suite - Spacious (100 sq.m.) apartment with fully equipped kitchen including a bar counter as well as a separate dining area for 4 people. The comfortable lounge with fireplace for cosy winter evenings, opens onto a balcony with built-in gas barbecue - a wonderful place to sit with a cool drink, enjoying the breathtaking sea views and spectacular sunsets over the Bay. The large air conditioned bedroom has a queen-size bed, plenty of cupboard space and a full en-suite bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. This stunning apartment sleeps 2 adults in total luxury.

The Pinotage Suite - This spacious 120 sq.m apartment is located next to the pool. The large lounge with a fireplace, and comfortable seating including a sleeper couch, opens onto a private patio with gas barbecue - the perfect place to dine ‘alfresco’, although there is also a dining area for 4 people, and a modern kitchen with granite top bar counter. The sumptuous bedroom has a king-size bed, ample cupboards and its own satellite TV. The large en-suite bathroom has a ‘slipper’ bath and separate spacious shower. This beautiful apartment sleeps 2 adults in total comfort, with space for a child or the occasional guest.

The Riesling Suite - This very large (150 sq.m.) apartment has panoramic sea views across False Bay. The spacious main bedroom has air conditioning, a king-size bed, en-suite shower room, and a comfortable settee to enjoy the spectacular view. The spacious second bedroom has large twin beds, ample cupboards and a full en-suite bathroom with corner bath and separate shower. The impressive kitchen/diner is fully equipped and open plan to the comfortable lounge. The apartment has its own private garden with barbecue - perfect for ‘al fresco’ dining. Sleeps 4 adults in complete comfort and is ideal for two couples travelling together, or for a family of 4.

Directions to Highcliffe House

From Cape Town Airport, take the N2 in the direction of Somerset West. Go through Strand, past Somerset West on the left, staying on the N2 until just before Sir Lowry’s Pass. Turn right onto the M165 (signposted Gordon’s Bay / Kleinmond). Follow the road into Gordon’s Bay, and just before the T-Junction at the end, turn left into Boundary Road (also known as Grens Weg). Proceed up the hill to the top and Highcliffe House is on the left, No. 65, on the corner of Boundary and Bulbine Roads.
