The Fernery Lodge & Chalets

Elegance, comfort and serenity, complimented by stunning views, ensure the ultimate holiday and honeymoon destination! Situated in the heart of the Tsitsikamma, the Lodge is perched on the edge of the river gorge overlooking a 30m waterfall, with views of the wild Indian Ocean, rock pools and fynbos.

Each of the six deluxe Lodge suites are tastefully and individually decorated. The B&B chalets sleep 2 in either twin- or king size luxury, whereas the self-catering chalets sleep 4 and have fully equipped kitchenettes, making them ideal for families - or choose one of the plush self catering twin chalets (ideal for 2 couples) which offer en-suite bathrooms and private lounges, fully equipped kitchen and a private plunge pool on the deck.

Lodge rooms with spa baths, chalets with cozy fires and private decks, percale cotton bed linen, luxurious bath amenities, bathrobes and heated towel rails ensure your comfort.

Facilities include jacuzzis, saunas, swimming pools and gym. Enjoy peaceful walks, cycling and romantic picnics… or just laze in the sun. Our restaurants serve a full breakfast, light lunches and excellent 4 course dinners.

Children are welcome in the Chalets, but regrettably no children under the age of 12 years are permitted in the Lodge and dinner restaurant due to its ambiance.

Directions

When driving from Port Elizabeth, after approximately 80km from Humansdorp, pass the Koomansbos/Witelsbos turnoff, and at the Tsitsikamma Lodge on your right, you are obliged to exit the N2 onto a tarred detour after crossing the Kruis River. Continue on this road for 4 km to the stop sign. Do not turn right at this point but continue straight onto the gravel road. When driving from Plettenberg Bay on the N2, pass through the tollgate and continue for approximately 30km before crossing the Storms River Bridge at the Total Village. Continue for 4 km after crossing the Storms River Bridge and turn right onto the Blueliliesbush road which is now a tarred detour off the N2. Travel for 2 km to the T-junction and turn right onto the gravel road (a left turn continues along the tarred detour). Once on the gravel road, turn left after 50 metres and shortly thereafter right as per The Fernery and Forest Ferns signs. From here it is 6km on a well signposted gravel road to The Fernery Lodge & Chalets

Please note: Although we do our best to maintain the 6 km stretch of gravel road, its’ condition is unfortunately dependent on the weather and the availability of maintenance teams. Please drive carefully.
